Rajnath Singh Discusses Preparations For The October 18th DefExpo 2022

At a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh examined the preparations for the impending DefExpo 2022. The defence minister was briefed during the meeting on the preparations undertaken for the event by numerous parties.

Ajay Bhatt, India’s Minister of State for Defense, Ajay Kumar, the Ministry of Defense’s Secretary of Defense, and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Rajnath Singh was pleased with the preparations and urged the staff to make DefExpo 2022 the best defence show ever.

The Gujarati city of Gandhinagar will host the 12th iteration of DefExpo beginning on October 18. The five-day defence exhibition will likely welcome a record number of enterprises with 1,136 having registered.

Compared to last year’s 76,000 square metres, the event would be organised over more than one lakh square metres. The theme of the 12th DefExpo is “Path to Pride,” which embodies PM Modi’s goal of making India a powerful and independent country through promoting, displaying, and forming alliances with the country’s aerospace and defence industrial industries. On October 21 and 22, the show will be accessible to the public for two days.

The indigenous defence sector, which is currently driving the government’s commitment to “Make in India, Make for the World” and the country at large, will be on display at the DefExpo.

This will be the first time the event is just open to Indian businesses. Indian participation would include a division of an Indian-registered corporation, a subsidiary of a foreign OEM, and an exhibitor with a joint venture with an Indian firm.

The seven new defence firms created from the former Ordnance Factory Board will also celebrate one year of existence during the DefExpo 2022. (OFB). These businesses will all be attending DefExpo for the first time.

Live demonstrations will be held along the Sabarmati River Front and public ship visits by the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard will take place at Porbandar in addition to the show, which will be held at the Helipad Exhibition Centre.

The IIT Delhi start-up M/s Botlabs will also participate in the event with its largest-ever drone show. The second iteration of the India-Africa Defence Dialogue will take place at the show, and numerous defence ministers from African nations are anticipated to attend.
