Mantri Raksha Mantri Raksha Mantri Raksha Man On April 26, 2022, Shri Rajnath Singh met with a Tiranga Mountain Rescue (TMR) team in New Delhi. Since 2016, Shri Hemant Sachdev’s TMR has been a non-profit organisation linked with the Indian Army. During the winter season, it supplies various teams of highly motivated and qualified Avalanche Rescue personnel who are deployed in snowbound and challenging places. The teams have played a key role in delivering dedicated avalanche rescue and training to Indian Army mountain craft soldiers.
During the ceremony, Shri Rajnath Singh was briefed about TMR’s efforts. TMR was praised by the Raksha Mantri for saving the lives of Armed Forces troops in the face of risks such as avalanches, as well as increasing awareness and providing training. TMR, he said, is a source of power for soldiers who are deployed in harsh terrain and face risks like as avalanches. He praised the fact that there had been no Army casualties in the TMR deployment areas. The Raksha Mantri emphasised that TMR had a significant duty because, as a result of climate change, hazards such as avalanche may become more common in the future.
TMR’s effort, according to the Raksha Mantri, is a great example of collaboration between the government and civil society. He emphasised that a country’s growth progresses only when the government and civil society work together. “The wheels on which the country may realise the aim of all-round sustainable growth are government and civil society,” he stated.
The event was attended by Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Manoj Pande, Director General Military Operations Lt Gen BS Raju, and other top military personnel.
