Rajnath Singh Warns Against Using Nukes As Russia Flags Ukraine’s “Dirty Bomb” Threat

The Russian embassy in New Delhi tweeted that on Wednesday, Russia’s defence minister Sergey Shoigu talked on the phone with his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh. They talked about Russia’s worries that Ukraine might use a “dirty bomb.”
“On October 26, 2022, the Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergei Shoigu, asked for a phone call with the Prime Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh. During the telecon, the two Ministers talked about how their countries can work together on defence and how the situation in Ukraine is getting worse.
The Indian defence ministry said in a statement that Defense Minister Shoigu told the Raksha Mantri about the changing situation in Ukraine. He told the Raksha Mantri that he was worried that a “dirty bomb” could be used to start trouble.

The statement also said that Singh reaffirmed India’s view that dialogue and diplomacy are the best ways to end the conflict as soon as possible. “He said that no side should use the nuclear option because using nuclear or radiological weapons goes against the most basic principles of humanity,” it said.
Both Ministers said that they would keep in touch.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters that Russia wanted the rest of the world to take action.
Shoigu also called his Chinese counterpart to tell him about the warning from Moscow.
