Reviews security situation in Assam, Arunachal : Army Chief Bipin Rawat satisfied with security situation in Northeast


Army chief’s visit comes in the wake of massive search ops launched by defence forces to nab culprits behind killing of Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh, 10 others.General Bipin Rawat visited Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.

The Army chief’s visit comes in the wake of the extensive search operations launched by the Army, state police and other paramilitary forces to trace the underground elements behind the killing of Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh and 10 others near Bogapani in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district on Tuesday morning. During his visit, the Army chief reviewed the security situation, especially in upper Assam and eastern Arunachal Pradesh.

He expressed satisfaction over the commitment and preparedness of the Army and complimented all ranks for their sustained hard work, professionalism and devotion to duty in conduct of people-friendly operations in difficult operational conditions. Read More
