On Monday, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that its forces had hit a shipbuilding complex in Mykolaiv, Ukraine’s southernmost city. The invaders were stuck in the city’s Okean Shipyard, destroying cars and other equipment, according to a statement. The announcement comes as the war between Russia and Ukraine approaches its 100th day this week.
Meanwhile, in a significant step in the growing battle in Eastern Europe, Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces declared on Facebook that Russian forces are prepared to kill their generals if they are forced to go on the offensive.
“Yes, Russian contractors in the Donetsk region nearly shot their general Valery Solodchuk and his guards, who arrived to quell the mob and force the ‘commanders’ to continue fighting,” the soldiers explained. Russian contractors were “ready to blow up the elite visitors,” according to the country’s military services. Donbass will be Ukrainian again: Zelenskyy
Meanwhile, as Russian troops move on with their so-called liberation of the Donetsk and Luhansk areas, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has declared that Donbass will be “Ukrainian again” as attacks intensify in the country’s east.
In his nightly speech on Friday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed ownership of the whole Donbas region, including the cities held by the invaders. Putin’s army were increasing attacks on strategically positioned Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, according to a recent British intelligence report.
Zelenskyy said in his address to the country that the situation in Donbass is “tough,” and that the Russians have concentrated their greatest reserves and artillery in Donetsk and Luhansk as a result. Zelenskyy, on the other hand, claimed that his men were doing everything they could to safeguard every inch of the land and that Donbas will soon be “Ukrainian.”
