Commercial Satellites Owned In West Could Be The Target Of “Retaliatory Strike”: Russia

- Tens of thousands have died in the conflict in Ukraine, which has also threatened the post-COVID economic rebound and led to the West's most serious conflict since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
According to Konstantin Vorontsov, deputy director of the department inside the foreign ministry, “quasi-civilian infrastructure may be a suitable target for a retaliatory strike.”
Commercial satellites from the United States and its allies could become legal targets for Russia if they took part in the conflict in Ukraine, according to a senior member of the Russian foreign ministry.
According to Konstantin Vorontsov, deputy head of the foreign ministry’s department for non-proliferation and arms control, “quasi-civilian infrastructure may be a viable target for a retaliatory strike.”
Vorontsov was cited at the UN as saying, “We are talking about the involvement of elements of civilian space infrastructure, including commercial, by the United States and its allies in armed wars.”
