Russia To Deliver 1st Set Of Ka 226T Choppers Till 2020


RUSSIA will deliver the first consignment of Ka 226T helicopters to India till 2020 as per the contract signed between Government of India and Russian Helicopters in 2017. In this Indo-Russia joint venture (JV), at least 140 helicopters will be assembled at the facilities of the JV in India with a gradual increase of the localisation level and 60 to be delivered directly from Russia in the beginning.

“The Ulan-Ude Aviation plant is preparing at full speed to its part of work production of 60 Ka 226T choppers for India and we will start delivering the first few helicopters till 2020,” said a senior official of Russian Helicopter to ‘The Hitavada’ on Wednesday.

“Russian Helicopters has already developed a training programme for Indian pilots, for this purpose five simulators will be produced and we are going to place one of them at the facilities of Ulan-Ude in Russia and deliver remaining four to India,” he added. Read More…
