Security forces launch CASO in south Kashmir


Security forces on Wednesday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Shopian, official sources said.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants, Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in village Katapora, Shopian, early this morning. All the exit points were sealed and house to house searches launched.

However, no contact has been established with the militants so far, they said, adding the operation was going on when the reports last came in. Details are awaited, sources said. Read More
