Soldier injured in militant attack on Army camp in Shopian

A soldier was injured in a militant attack on an Army camp in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Friday afternoon.
The attack comes less than 12 hours after militants attacked an Army camp at Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday night, resulting in death of a soldier and injuries to another.

A police official told UNI that militants fired at an Army camp of 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) at village Mantribugh in Shopian at around 1210 hrs on Friday, resulting in injuries to a soldier.

The security forces guarding the camp retaliated ensuing in a brief exchange of fire, he said, adding the militant later managed to escape from the spot.
