South African and Indian defence industries identify areas for collaboration


The South African Aerospace Maritime and Defence Export Council (SAAMDEC) has outlined a number of areas in which it wishes to collaborate with the Indian defence industry.

Sandile Ndlovu, CEO of SAAMDEC, announced that local companies will be paired with Indian companies and will focus on areas including the development of both small and medium calibre ammunition, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI).

SAAMDEC falls under the government’s Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and facilitates exports for defence and related industries. Read More
