Lieutenant General B S Raju, the Vice Chief of Army Staff, visited advanced positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday to assess the security situation and operational readiness, according to a defence official.

On Saturday, Lt Gen Raju arrived at the Northern Army headquarters in Udhampur for a two-day North Tech Symposium, where Army and defence manufacturing industry participants discussed policies and processes for expedited procurement and self-reliance in defence activities.

On Saturday, the symposium’s second day, an expo was held, with 162 businesses from India’s defence industry, including MSMEs, DRDO, and DPSU, participating and displaying their products.

In addition, 42 innovative solutions developed by Army institutions to improve their combat capability were on show.

According to the statement, Lt Gen Raju reviewed the security situation and operational readiness at forward sites along the LoC in the Crossed Swords Division’s Sunderbani and Pallanwala sectors.

According to the spokesman, the vice head of the Army praised the formations’ work in preserving security with a strong anti-infiltration grid.
