Today, The Navy Chief Will Receive Gallantry Awards In Kochi

- The event will take place at the INS Garuda naval aviation station, which is part of the Southern Naval Command's (SNC) headquarters.

Admiral R Hari Kumar, the chief of the Navy staff, will give this year’s gallantry and distinction awards to naval personnel in Kochi on Wednesday.
The Navy announced in an official statement that the Naval Investiture Ceremony-2022 will be place on Wednesday at Naval Base Kochi to honour naval personnel who have displayed gallant acts, leadership, professional achievements, and outstanding service of high order.
The event will take place at the INS Garuda naval aviation station, which is part of the Southern Naval Command’s (SNC) headquarters. On behalf of the President of India, Adm Kumar will present the gallantry and distinguished service awards.

On Tuesday morning, Adm Kumar arrived at the SNC. Kumar is making his first visit to the SNC headquarters since taking over as Navy chief in November of last year. Officials from naval institutions across India have arrived in Kochi for the investiture event, which is being held for all navy commanders.The SNC has undertaken extensive security precautions in advance of the ceremony.
