Turbulence on Air Canada plane injures 35 passengers. In-flight video goes viral

Passengers on an Air Canada flight while flying from Vancouver to Sydney, Australia had to be diverted to Hawaii on Thursday after a sudden case of turbulence. The turbulence was so severe that it left 37 passengers and flight crew members on the flight AC33 with minor injuries. Of the 37 people injured, nine had serious injuries and thirty people were taken to hospitals.

The plane was diverted to Honolulu and landed at 12:45 pm EST, which is 10:15 pm according to the IST. The Boeing 777 aircraft, which was carrying 269 passengers and 15 members of the crew, “encountered unforecasted and sudden turbulence approximately two hours past Hawaii,” the carrier said.
