Two Militants Were Killed In An Encounter In Srinagar

During a fight on Wednesday night in Srinagar city, two militants were killed.

The J&K Police said that the militants killed in the encounter were linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and had attacked a worker from West Bengal who was not from the area.

“Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama and Shahid Ahmad were named as the terrorists who were killed,” said the additional director general of police (ADGP).

The ADGP said, “They were involved in a terrorist attack on a worker from West Bengal named Muneer ul Islam on September 2 in Pulwama.”

A defence spokesperson said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles started an operation in the Nowgam area in the evening after getting information that militants were in the area. Two local militants were killed at the end of the short fight.
