Western Army commander visits Vajra Corps

Lieutenant General R P Singh, who recently took over as the Western Army commander, made his maiden visit to Vajra Corps in Punjab to review its operational preparedness.

Vajra Corps general officer commanding (GOC) Lt Gen Arvind Dutta briefed him about the unit. Earlier, the Western Army commander also visited the Rising Star Corps on August 7 to assess its operational and security aspects.

Lt Gen Singh was commissioned into 1 Mechanised Infantry (1 Madras) on June 12, 1982. An alumnus of National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA), Lt Gen Singh has attended the Defence Services Staff Course, Senior Command Course, Higher Command Course and the prestigious National Defence College.
