Will Pick Talent Among Disabled Soldiers at Sports Meet Next Yr: Lt Gen Rawat

In a bid to uplift morale of the specially abled soldiers, army will be organizing sports events for them next year in the month of February at Secunderabad in Hyderabad, stated by the Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat at a function here.

“No doubt our jawans are excelling in Para-Olympics every time, bringing medals and also preparing for the next but before that, we will organise sports events for specially abled soldiers next year in February at Secunderabad,” Gen Rawat here said on Monday while speaking at the “Samman Samaroh’ programme organized by the Northern Command here as a part of observing 2018 as “Year of Disabled Soldiers in Line of Duty”.

Not only from army, but we will also invite participants from the police, para-military forces as well, he said and added that through such events, we will find talent among our jawans, who are specially abled, which will be nurtured further so that they can get selected and participate in the Para Olympics, World Games.
