To win India’s wars with Indian solutions, need collaboration between user, industry, academia: Lt Gen Subrata Saha


Lt Gen Subrata Saha served as the Indian Army’s Deputy Chief (Planning and Systems) until his retirement on March 31 this year. He was the first to head the Army Design Bureau. He was responsible for the army’s military procurements and aligning them to the ‘Make in India’ scheme, by promoting indigenous equipment. He also institutionalised regular interactions between the army, industry and academia to highlight the army’s requirements.

Lt Gen Saha spoke to the economictimes.com on a range of issues such as his concept of ‘winning India’s wars with Indian solutions’, the latest Strategic Partnership model that ropes in private sector to manufacture major military platforms, and modernisation initiatives of the army.Read more
