He was talking to reporters after opening the two-day National Defence MSME conclave and exhibition on Daussehra Ground. The goal of the event is to show the public the work done by MSME and DPSUs.
The Minister of State for Defence praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that his programme “Atmanirbhar Bharat” turned India from a major importer of defence equipment to an exporter. He said that India made Rs 38,500 crore in five years by making and selling equipment and tools to other countries.
He said that, according to a survey done in 2020, India is now one of the top 25 countries that export defence equipment.
“India has the third-largest budget for defence. He said, “We are no longer weak, and we are quickly becoming a world power.”
Before that, the conclave-come-exhibition was opened by Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota-Bundi MP Om Birla and Bhatt.
