“You’re Not Fooling Anybody..”Jaishankar On The Us F-16 For Pakistan

“It’s a relationship that hasn’t worked out well for either Pakistan or the U.S.,” Jaishankar said at an event in Washington on Sunday put on by the Indian American community.

The Indian minister said these things when someone in the crowd asked him about what the US was doing with Pakistan and F-16 fighter jets.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh quickly told US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin about India’s worries about the US decision to give Pakistan’s F-16 fleet a maintenance package.

“The United States really needs to think about how good this relationship is and what it gives them,” Jaishankar said.

“For someone to say, “I’m doing this because it’s all about fighting terrorism,” and then talk about something like an F-16’s capabilities, which everyone knows where they are used and how they work, is strange. If you say these things, you won’t fool anyone, “Noticed Jaishankar.

The minister will meet with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and other top Biden administration officials.
